The image above:
"Soldiers at the Siege of Yorktown” (1781) watercolor by French officer Jean-Baptiste-Antoine de Verger. The image depicts four soldiers of different backgrounds, including a Black soldier from the 1st Rhode Island Regiment on the far left, a New England militiaman, a frontier rifleman, and a French officer. The American/French force at the Siege of Yorktown was approximately 19,000 troops. Contemporary sources present at Yorktown estimated that as many as 20%-25% of the soldiers that were engaged at Yorktown were Black Americans.
